Friends,
We want to recognize our friend Wanda Morgan for the amazing work she’s done to support animal welfare through the Lifeline Animal Project. Wanda has an extremely busy and demanding “day job” as the Chief Financial Officer at MSouth Equity Partners, where she has worked for 17 years. Headquartered in Atlanta, MSouth is one of the largest and most successful private equity firms in our area.
Wanda began her volunteer work at the Dekalb County Animal Shelter several years ago and quickly realized that an overcrowded shelter environment is only equipped to provide the most basic care to its dogs, which does not include daily exercise, play, or socialization, all of which are critical to the physical and mental wellbeing of shelter dogs. As Wanda told us, “The dogs all have stories and most had families at one time. Regardless of age, breed or size, all are homeless, and all are hoping for a second chance. Spending time with the dogs is the best part of my week and certainly a highlight for the dogs. We encourage anyone who has a heart for animals or a passion for animal welfare to grab a leash and go hug a shelter dog. There are a multitude of volunteer opportunities at Lifeline, and you can make an immediate difference. The need is great, and you will be richly rewarded for the time spent.”
Lifeline Animal Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission of ending the euthanasia of healthy animals. It is the largest animal welfare organization in Georgia. Lifeline manages the Fulton County and Dekalb County Animal Shelters, and operates two low-cost, full-service veterinary clinics. https://lifelineanimal.org.
