As Partner at Childs Company, my primary responsibilities center on creating holistic financial plans and investment strategies that help clients reach their goals while building the kind of relationships that cultivate deep trust. This trust allows us to serve as advisors in all financial areas of clients' lives.

My career began at Ernst & Young, LLP, where I served as a Senior Accountant in the Assurance practice. That experience included working on an initial public offering for a Fortune Global 100 Company and performing extensive financial analysis for client financial statements. I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Master's in Accounting and earned both my CPA and CFP® designations before joining Childs Company.

Growing up south of Atlanta, I spent time with many blue-collar people who worked hard for what they had. This shaped my appreciation for earned success. Now living in Peachtree Corners with my wife Anne and our two sons, I appreciate being part of a community filled with hard-working people and successful business owners.

I maintain a disciplined morning routine highlighted by exercising and reading with Anne, which provides quiet time together before the day begins. I enjoy golf and UGA football, and treasure adventures with my sons and coaching their sports teams.

I'm actively involved with Perimeter Church and support both Corners Outreach and Camp Horizon, a nonprofit organization that serves foster care children in metro Atlanta. I'm also a member of Associated Builders and Contractors, which aligns with the significant amount of work we do with people in the construction industry.

I am a Registered Representative with Kestra Investment Services, LLC, and an Investment Advisor Representative with Kestra Advisory Services, LLC

Founder, Managing Partner

As the Founder and Managing Partner of Childs Company, my primary responsibilities center on client service, developing investment strategies, and providing comprehensive financial advice. Internally, I focus on strategic planning and establishing priorities that keep us aligned with clients' evolving needs.

After graduating from the University of Georgia, I began my career at Arthur Andersen & Co., which provided a solid foundation in business and finance. However, my real education came from being on the other side of the table as a business owner and client myself.

Before founding this firm, I served as CFO and major shareholder at After Hours Formal Wear, the nation's largest retailer of men's formal wear. Working with the management team, we developed and executed a consolidation strategy that concluded with a successful sale to a public company. I also worked closely with shareholders and management at FineLine Technologies, where we executed a growth strategy leading to a successful sale to a private equity firm.

These experiences inspired me to create something different: a firm specifically designed to work with business owners, where I could share my knowledge and experience well beyond portfolio management and basic financial planning.

Originally from Jonesboro, Arkansas, I've called the Peachtree Corners and Johns Creek area home for over forty years. My wife, Shaun, and I have two daughters and three grandchildren. We spend a considerable amount of time together through family activities and vacations.

I've been a member of the Atlanta Athletic Club since 1985 and believe strongly in supporting the community. I have served on the Peachtree Corners Business Association, as a director on the board of Corners Outreach and on the boards of two privately owned businesses: WH Bass, Inc., a general contracting firm, and The Intersect Group, an IT and finance staffing firm.

I earned my CFP designation in 2008 and am a Registered Representative with Kestra Investment Services, LLC, and an Investment Advisor Representative with Kestra Advisory Services, LLC.
